Sharlene Wallace is thrilled to be returning to historic Macpherson House to give a solo garden concert! I will be performing many of my own compositions old... and new! Great musical performances in a beautiful garden setting - a perfect combination. On Wednesday, July 26th at 7pm, you're invited to attend 'Music in the Garden' at the Allan Macpherson House & Park in Napanee. 

Sharlene Wallace is one of Canada's most prolific and influential Celtic/lever harpists. Playing both Classical/pedal and lever harps has led Sharlene to diverse musical influences and opportunities. Sharlene tours internationally giving concerts, workshops, masterclasses and adjudications. She has performed in numerous festivals and concert series across North America and in Europe. Winner of two international competitions, Sharlene has created seven independent CDs that have been inspired by her travels across Canada

York Region Chamber Music is proud to present Richmond Hill harpist Emily Belvedere in her home town in a program that explores music inspired by the written word including the premiere of a new work by award-winning Markham composer Matt Poon.

Praised for her ‘crystalline technique’ and her ‘ease in merging lyrical and dissonant sounds’. (MusicWeb International’s Worldwide Concert and Opera Reviews). An enthusiastic competitor, Miss Belvedere has won a number of bursaries and scholarships including claiming third prize at the American Harp Society’s 18th National Competition in Salt Lake City, Utah. Emily won the 2013 McGill Classical Concerto Competition as well as the prize for best performance of a Canadian work in the 2013 OSM Standard Life Competition in Montreal.

Hong Kongese-Canadian composer and pianist Matt Poon promotes music of our time by creating, performing, improvising, and researching. He recently won 1st prize at the 2016 Eckhardt-Gramatte Competition and had performed a solo concert tour in 10 cities across Canada promoting Canadian and International contemporary piano music. He was named one of “30 Hot Canadian Classical Musicians Under 30 in 2016” by the CBC.
